So, we’ve decided to put out a series of posts for the beginner just starting out their fitness journey.

Welcome to our “Top Ten Tips for Getting Back in Shape”, part one.

Today Im going to talk about the most important part of starting a new fitness plan, routine, life makeover, or whatever you want to call it, and that is ACTUALLY STARTING THE PLAN in the first place. Therefore, without further ado, our first and most important tip.

Tip #1- Pick a date to start and stick to it

I know what you are probably thinking right now, “WHAT?” Well, contrary to popular belief, most of those who aim to start, never even do. They think about it. They talk about it. They might even break down and buy some new workout shoes, a nice new outfit to wear when they actually start. Some people even go as far as actually joining the gym feeling super pumped about what they are about to do.  Then all of a sudden, BOOM, life kicks in. You get busy, tired, unmotivated, and before you know it , the thought of exercise is just simply overwhelming. Well, as with anything in life, you have to just jump in and do it. Pick a date (the sooner the better), put it in your calendar, make the arrangements, and make it happen. Once, you have the first part of the plan, tell EVERY SINGLE person that you know or meet about it. That is the first layer of accountability to your plan. Afterall, you are a person of your word, so why would you talk about it if your weren’t going to follow  through? Accountability is key to successful planning.

So, the date is set. You are ready. This is happening. You will be more physically and mentally fit than any other point in your life. No Drugs. No “Six Minute Abs”. No short cuts. Just pure effort and a plan that will equal pure reward. We hope that we can give you great tips to help you on your journey, but in the end, it is just you. Only you can make this happen. Good Luck on your journey.
