“Quality means doing it right, even when no one is looking”-Henry Ford Most people are making these mistakes even if they don’t know it. Read on to find out how to reap huge rewards from your workout routine. Ask yourself, and be honest, ARE YOU GUILTY? You may be without even knowing it. Start with one, or implement all 10 right away. Odds are high your body will thank you for it. 1. Don’t go all CRAZY for your first few weeks if you are just getting started. 3-4 sessions/ week in the beginning is plenty When the body hasn’t moved in a while, it will not be prepped to go out and give everything it has right away. Keep the body guessing=body works harder=more calories burned. This is also a good thing to do if you are hitting a plateau (no gains or losses in a few weeks of consistent exercise) or just to simply freshen things up and make it a little more enjoyable. 2. Get off the Treadmill! To understand this more, read #1. Repetition=Adaption=Body “cruise control”=less calories burned. Even something as simple as 20 […]

You: Office worker sitting behind a computer all day long. Do you feel like it is just taking its toll on you? Well, it could possibly be killing you. According to a recent study published by the American Journal of Preventative Medicine “The public health burden of prolonged sitting is real. Accounting for 3.8% of all-cause mortality in this study, sitting is shortening the lives of people across the world. The present findings support the importance of promoting active lifestyles (more physical activity and less sitting) as an important aspect for premature mortality prevention worldwide, and therefore the need for global action to reduce this risk factor.” What does that mean for you if you work 8 hours a day at a desk?
